Green Schools Introduction

Miss Vaughan is the Green schools co-ordinator in the school. The flag that we are concentrating on for this cycle is the Travel Flag. Not only do we have to try and improve our methods of transport in relation to getting to and from school we have to maintain our targets in the previously achieved flags. The other flags that we achieved were for Recycling and Waste, Energy and Water. There are two notice boards inside the front door of the school which are dedicated to Green schools. There are 7 steps to be avchieved in order to attain your Green Flag. They are as follows 1. Green Schools Committee 2. Environmental Review 3 Action Plan 4 Monitoring and Evaluation 5. Curriculum Work 6 Informing and involving 7. Green Code

Tag Rugby

Mr. McKeogh and Mr. Corcoran ran tag rugby sessions for each Thursday after school for the months of January and February. It proved to be a great hit with the boys. During each session they worked on their ball handling and footwork skills. Their levels of enthusiasm, co-operation and manners were wonderful.

Wassily Kandinsky

This week in Art the boys in 3rd and 4th learnt about the famous artist Wassily Kandinsky. His love of circles in his work is something which the boys recreated in their own art work today. They all believed that his work is so bright and colourful that it cheers everyone up so we have put them up in the corridor in order to spread the cheerfullness in KBNS.
