Active Boys over Easter
On the first week back after a great two weeks off we were delighted to see so many boys tell us about their amazing achievements over the holidays.
Jay won a medal with the U12 Nenagh noxing club.
Stephen and Padraic were part of the Killaloe Ballina RFC team that own the Stuart O’Connell Perpetual Memorial Trophy. They beat Thomond RFC in a golden try final that finished 4-4 before that.
Ben, Brian and Shane were on the team that won the U 10/11 Newport Mini Rugby Tournament.
Luke, Oisin, Cian, Tony, Tom, Julian, Dairmuid and Conor were part of the Community Games rugby team that drew with Doora Barefield 9-9. The match went to a golden try and after an hour the teams could not be separated and the referee decided that there will be a replay in the coming weeks. Best of luck boys in the replay.
Stephen, Gordy, Oisin and Shane were part of the Community Games team that became soccer county champions over the holidays. Well done boys. (I will take yer picture next week as the on Miss McKeogh sent me isn’t uploading so please remind me)
Shane was part of the Killaloe/Ballina U13 Rugby Team that beat Greystones to win the Pat Lawlor Cup.

Well done boys we are very proud of you all and keep up the great activities!!!
Erupting Volcano Model
The boys in 3rd and 4th class were studying about rocks, volcanoes and earthquakes this week. We decided to make a model of an erupting volcano. We got some sand and wet it in order to mould it into a volcano shape. We then made a crater and put a bottle top into the hole in order to hold the baking soda. We filled the bottle top with baking soda and then added some food die. This coloured the lava which fizzed up once we added the vinegar to teh baking soda. This was a very interesting experiment.

Killaloe Maths Trail
On Friday last, the boys in 3rd and 4th took complete advantage of the sunshine and participated in a maths trail arould the town of Killaloe. The answered questions on the school, church, main street and the bridge. The boys put their mathematical skills to great use during the trail. They had great fun in the sunshine too.
